To be completely honest, I’ve been coming to this studio for almost a year now and had a few negative experiences at the beginning. I’m not sure if it was because I didn’t feel comfortable on the megaformer, or that the instructors I had were just not super friendly, but I was determined to succeed and kept coming back anyways. After plenty of classes, I am finally writing my (positive) review.

I tried the Megaformer and here’s what happened

Allow me to introduce this post by saying that for one year I begged and pleaded that my best friend Colleen make the leap and switch from a regular gym membership to ClassPass. Thankfully, as a ClassPass ambassador, we were given a free month to gift to a friend as a holiday present. I immediately texted Colleen and let her know that now she really had to start because her first month would be free!

The timing was perfect; she was on winter break and had plenty of time to try out the Atlanta fitness scene. I immediately recommended that she try a megaformer class—the one workout that promises to make my muscles shake no matter how often I go.

Read on to find out what happened from her perspective…

There’s a brand new studio in the heart of Hollywood that happens to be literally across the street from my apartment. It doesn’t get any better than that! While it has a striking resemblance to the megaformer, this machine actually tilts up and down AND left and right with the click of a button.

I’ve driven by WundaBar many times on Ventura and noticed the bright blue walls inside. After looking it up, I discovered that the WundaBar is a pilates studio that patented its own WundaFormer in order to combine the signature workouts of the Pilates reformer, chair, and jump board, and a ballet bar all in one. The fact that each sweat is only 45 minutes was also a major perk so I signed up for my first free class. Continue reading

I’ve been searching high and low for tough yet friendly megaformer classes in Los Angeles. The “tough” part is NEVER a problem as megaformers are literally the most challenging machines I’ve ever worked on. So far, there are two studios that I swear by, but both happen to be 30 minutes away from my Hollywood apartment, which is why I was very excited to try Pilates Platinum, less than a mile from where I live. If you’ve been following along, I am always on the lookout for friendly megaformer classes. Megaformers are a beast of a workout and classgoers are usually ripped and they know it. I’ve literally been in classes with Victoria’s Secret models. Motivating? Nope. Just makes you feel completely inadequate when you must take a break from your shaky plank. Well I’ve officially found another must-try megaformer studio in the neighborhood! Continue reading

Life is all about trying new things and Sundays are all about exploring new neighborhoods in Los Angeles. I decided to do both and signed up for a Wunda Chair class in Echo Park—an area I had yet to venture to although it’s only a 6-mile straight shot down Sunset from my apartment. Continue reading
