For Day 3 of my morning workouts, I decided to look for somewhere that was within walking distance. This was a great idea because I assumed it would take less time than driving (I was in for a rude awakening…and an accidental jogging sesh). I also wanted something that would get my heart rate higher than barre so spin was the perfect fit.

I am currently spending a week trying to be a morning exerciser. I also happened to get ENGAGED the night before this exhausting week was set to begin. The result: a champagne-hangover 7:00 AM Monday barre class. After the initial sleep deprivation wore off, I took out a calendar and planned my class schedule for the rest of my week. Looking for places in the Hollywood/West Hollywood area, I stumbled across a morning class at Best U Studio. I’ve wanted to take this class for a while, so I decided there’s no better time then now!

Doing a Pilates reformer class has always been on my bucket list but I’ve never had the guts to try it. Anything requiring use of a special machine makes me nervous because I hate looking like I have no idea what I’m doing (who am I kidding, I still look like that after 10 cardio barre classes). I decided to suck it up and give it a try, for the love of the blog!

Working out should be fun. That’s what initially got me off of the elliptical and on to the barre. I was tired of the same old movements for 60 minutes and found that group classes were what really got me motivated. I love to try new things so I signed up for a trampoline class, knowing that this would transport me back to childhood while getting in some good cardio.

I started working out here because I found a Groupon for a price that you cannot beat—10 classes for $49, but I got hooked pretty quickly. This studio is also a mile from my apartment and that doesn’t hurt, especially during rush hour (aka all the time).

I’ve walked by this studio many times during coffee breaks at work. Located right next to Pure Barre, Sandbox Fitness opened up at the end of June and has been piquing my interest ever since. Looking in from the street, you can see a giant box of sand with surfboards on top and TRX bands hanging from above. Knowing how difficult any workout is when you add the element of unsteadiness, I had to try this out.

If you haven’t worked out or been to a group class in a while, it can be a little intimidating. Here are the DOs and DON’Ts that will make you look like a regular!
