In Los Angeles we are blessed with pretty much perfect weather 365 days of the year. Having lived here for 8 months (and just getting back from snowy DC 24 hours ago), I can attest that there is nothing better than the LA climate. Never do I have an excuse to curl up inside under a blanket and binge watch Netflix because it’s always going to be around 74 and sunny (pros and cons, people). With that being said, outdoor workouts are extremely popular and Runyon Canyon is my hike of choice. Continue reading

The best thing about living in Los Angeles is the abundance of fitness classes beyond the usual exercises. I’ve had the chance to learn how to pole dance, get my heart racing while bouncing on a trampoline, and plank on a wobbly surfboard. I’m always looking for new workouts that challenge different muscles so I decided to give aerial fitness another shot.

Working out should be fun. That’s what initially got me off of the elliptical and on to the barre. I love to try new things so I signed up for a trampoline class, knowing that this would transport me back to childhood while getting in some good cardio.

I’ve walked by this studio many times during coffee breaks at work. Located right next to Pure Barre, Sandbox Fitness opened up at the end of June and has been piquing my interest ever since. Looking in from the street, you can see a giant box of sand with surfboards on top and TRX bands hanging from above. Knowing how difficult any workout is when you add the element of unsteadiness, I had to try this out.
