I’ve been dying to check out Burn60 since they opened last month so I was thrilled when the ClassPass ambassadors were asked to host an event at the studio! Burn60 is a Brentwood favorite that has expanded to West Hollywood.
Pre Sweat
The studio is located on the second floor above Pavilions grocery store. Either park on the top level (ideal), or take the elevator up from ground level. I checked in and reserved a treadmill by writing my name next to the number. The class is spent between the treadmills and the floor. I filled up my water bottle in the back of the studio and refreshed my deodorant in the bathroom (I weirdly love the spray deodorant at studios) before we got started.
Sweat
For 60 minutes we alternated between the treadmills and body weight/free weight exercises on the floor, switching stations every 10ish minutes with a total of six rotations. On the floor, we grabbed personal medium weighted dumbbells that we used to do a lot of chest, back, arms, legs, and core work. I chose 7.5 lbs, which were perfect for the most part, but I did have to switch to one weight for triceps. The instructor demonstrated each exercise, usually including a modification to make it easier or harder, before we spent about a minute doing it. I was thankful for the towel service because I was dripping sweat!
We worked in intervals on the treadmill switching between walking, running, and sprinting, occasionally increasing the incline. I liked that the instructor provided three speed options. I’m not much of a runner so my speeds usually fell in between the first and second options depending on how brave I felt. The sprints didn’t last more than a minute but they were still exhausting! Class ended with a group stretch and then we were treated to juice samples from EarthBar, swag bags with gifts from Burn60 Studios and ClassPass, and boxing wraps by Kali Active!
Post Sweat
Grab some groceries at Pavilions or head to my favorite smoothie place, Nekter, in the same shopping center! The prices at Nekter are based on the size of the cup so you can basically create anything you want for one cost!
