Last Thursday I brought together a killer group of women (and one very brave man) for a celebration in honor of Sweat and Repeat’s first birthday!

The event took place at Speedplay LA, a penthouse boutique studio in Beverly Hills that features a high intensity interval training workout. I can’t decide which is better, the workout or the view! It was an absolute ideal location for a party.

As guests arrived, they signed in, put on nametags, and dropped their name into the raffle. We all chatted for a bit admiring the sunset until Beka gathered us to explain each machine. As she went through the workout, I got a few death stares and someone muttered, “Maybe next time you should pick a barre class!” That’s how these classes are: intimidating and painful but so totally worth it!

After a warm up and a few laps, we separated into small groups and started our rotation through the treadmill, rower, free weights, body weight exercises, and barbells. If you’re interested in a Speedplay workout, check out my original review here.

Sweat was dripping down my face and my heart was pounding but everyone was cheering each other on until the very end. There’s nothing like working out with an incredibly motivated, excited group to help you push past your own limits. After a cool down, guests were treated to food, drinks, and one-on-one stretching.

Fitspot, an on demand personal training app, brought two stretch tables and were able to give everyone’s struggling muscles some love. Sweetgreen provided three of their seasonal salads and Fala Bar catered their snack cups packed with falafel, quinoa, hummus, tabouli, and tahini. Guests were sipping on refreshing WTRMLN WTR and sampling juices by Renew Juicery. Everything was so tasty!
